Hsinchu “X-site”: Igniting Taiwan's Technological Innovation

Taiwan’s tech sector, with Hsinchu City at its core, fuels the nation’s economy. “Hsinchu Project X” aims to build X-Site, a sustainable tech hub on Gongdao 5th Road. Designed by BaF, X-Site’s three phased buildings will foster innovation and collaboration. Phase 1 began in 2020, with phases 2 and 3 in the planning stage.
The layout links buildings through an expanded i-Line pedestrian pathway, enhancing connectivity within the site. Inspired by a “magical forest,” the design philosophy fosters a symbiosis between architecture and nature, and optimizes operational efficiency.
As a visionary science park, X-Site strategically leverages AI and IoT, intending to fuel innovative thinking and limitless possibilities among users, including specialists, scholars, and tourists.
Prioritizing sustainability, the design aims for carbon neutrality by using efficient materials and adopting a circular ecosystem throughout the building lifecycle.
