In this project, the old school building (the first student dormitory) after been demolished and rebuilt can provide 2,078 beds, 92% of which are general student dormitories, open to domestic students who wish to apply, and set up barrier-free dormitories to facilitate the use of disabled or injured students. In addition, in response to the increasingly frequent international academic exchange activities, this case sets up 69 international club suites to provide convenient and comfortable short-term accommodation for international scholars (visiting scholars, international students, and short-term exchange students, etc.), echoing the of international application research plan of the university.

The campus green space and the open space system connects in series

On the northwest side, the green façade continues the greenery on the ground, creating the possibility of human and ecological symbiosis. Blue and green are the main colors, extending the greenness of the ground up to the sky, symbolizing that the students of Taiwan University of Science and Technology are flying outwards.

Open the wall to activate the surrounding neighborhood

In response to the demands of students living on campus and nearby residents, the reconstruction project is to demolish the fence and integrate the ground floor into a continuous and open public (commercial, service) space. Increase the space for the extensions of higher education, life education and social education, thus, to realize the ideal of whole-person education.

Co-Working smart building and well-developed limbs and clear mind

In this project, the smart building infrastructure uses FTTH fiber, the community can share various convenient services through an unimpeded network digital service platform. In the future, it can use active community construction to manage community information, integrate logistics and information flow, and provide an e-digital life. In addition, environmental monitoring, energy management, and community security provide residents with high-quality “good” houses.
