The visitor center is infused with natural lights with its wide window opening and dotted skylights on the ceiling. The scenery of the harbor can be well taken in from the balcony on the second floor. A smell of ocean(and fish) suggests that this is a harbor village on seaside.
The roof covering provides a shelter for the tourists and locals. The building height is restricted to show respect to the Mazu temple next to the site.
A quiet design that is not noisy and blends well into the local environment. The visitor center is part of the local landscape, for people to come and explore this laid-back fishery town.
