The Taiwan Water Corporation building is a multi purpose complex with public facilities on the lower floors and office on the towers. There is also a Water Science Museum on the west side of the site and a great area of landscape that enhances this neighbourhood in Taipei City.

Old tree preservation One of the main concerns on the new design was to maintain as many trees as possible. In order to do that 116 trees were preserved and 81 transplanted. There was a great predominance of palm trees and 2/3 of them are preserved. Two protected trees are preserved and the excavations are carefully pushed back from them.

Reduce carbon emissions_Open pipe configuration Another main goal was to construct a sustainable building and to reduce its carbon emissions, both during construction and operation. The building planning, its shape and positioning, the steel structure, its durability, the air-conditioning equipment piping design, water supply and drainage sanitary piping. Also, the choice of materials with low CO2 were favoured. This way, the building will produce less CO2 than the average.

Energy-saving design This design is particular for its water distribution pool located on the third basement, with a total capacity of 470,000 tons of water and an annual water temperature of 20°C. This stable low-temperature water is used for air-conditioning cooling and cooling tunnel wind to introduce into the sultry parking lot space, this way it saves energy and adjusts the role of space comfort. In addition the smart energy system also includes the roof design with solar frame system and the façade and window washing equipment.
