Located at Nanzi Free Trade Zone Plot 2, LCY Group Corporate R&D Center is designed with the intention of shaping a green and people-oriented research environment. The south part of the site which has to be retained for the second construction phase is converted to a green landscaped area. Excavation from basement area fills the large landscape area to form contoured landscape, making earth filling and excavating counterpoise. The spatial concept of “Integration, Sharing, and Openness” is continued in the design of factory, laboratories and educational training centre, which focused on the flexibility and openness of laboratories in order to increase working efficiency, reduce energy consumption, at the same time enhance the interaction between the researchers. The project makes full use of solar energy and recyclable building materials, integrating with LCY Group products as building elements, to comprehensively greenify and reduce carbon footprints. The design aims to respond to LCY Croup’s ideology and culture, and to meet the standards of Taiwan’s Diamond Grade Green Building Certification System and the U.S. LEED Green Building Rating System.
