HURC Dao Xiang Public Housing
The Daoxiang community is located in a tranquil corner of the Guandu Plain, surrounded by the blue sky and lush rice fields. This peaceful community is the home to the new Daoxiang Housing, an affordable housing project with the goal of protecting urban residents’ rights to be in touch with nature.
The main entrance, located on the south side of Section 2, Central North Road, unfolds onto a welcoming and spacious plaza with a widened green pedestrian space. Designed with open space configurations that extend the surrounding greenery into the site, Daoxiang Housing creates a refreshing green corridor among urban scenarios. The site is connected to the China Film Corporation Studio campus. The ground floor is planned with a cross-axis corridor design that helps create a link between existing neighborhoods and forms a shared open space for leisure activity.
The building facade of this project translates the local rice fragrance imagery of the Guandu Plain into the exterior wall expression, integrating it into the interior visual design of the building. This blends the building into the warm and charming local culture, creating a sense of home and a warm feeling of returning home.
