Taipei Wanhua Public Rental Housing
There are tens of thousands of Ande Guangsha, the world’s poorest people will be happy, and the wind and rain are as stable as a mountain!
How can we deliver more sheltered houses? A place where people who are not rich can live in peace of mind. A shelter to block out the wind and rain strikes like mountains. This is a poem by Du Fu in 700 AD. The question had passed on to the present day, we are still looking for shelter.
However, the construction plan setting of social housing and the setting of leasing mode can easily arouse the suspicion of the surrounding residents. They think that social housing is the killer of lowering the price of their area. The identities of the residents of social housing are mixed, which is likely to cause public security problems in the community. The attitude of some surrounding residents, this project is also a question of surrounding residents in this atmosphere; how to obtain the approval of most residents and create mutually beneficial space is also the biggest challenge in design.
The east side of the base of this project is the Youth Park, and the west side is the Xiang’an social Residence. The mass configuration of the site is to reduce the blocking of the Xiang’an Social Residence’s landscape view from the Youth Park, and at the same time create a penetrable flow line for the community on the ground level of the public residence. The functional space is used to its fullest, forming a mutually beneficial space for the community. At the same time, the greenness of the youth park is introduced into the atrium of this project, so that the green belt can extend to the water source road.

Mixed living, a symbiotic community

In the design stage, the whole district was planned to leave green spaces and old trees for planting, respecting the urban area design and the surrounding landscape. In this project, there is a “District Residents Activity Center” on the first floor of the community to provide diverse community services for the neighborhood. In addition, the “Public Private Childcare Center” is used to build a social care network and social welfare system to form a sound mixed-use system. Living in a symbiotic community.
