Speech Abstract
The exploitation of resources and the manufacture of products contribute more than half of the world’s carbon emissions, and pose a great threat to ecological environment and human health.
Circular economy is a systematic approach to production that involves repairing, recycling, reusing, and sharing existing materials as long as possible. With the increase of the global population and the continuous expansion of the economy, the circular economy model is the only way towards sustainable development.
“Sharing” has been one of the most important spirits of library since the first human library was founded. People share books, multimedia source materials, audiovisual equipment, comfortable furniture and spaces. More importantly: it is a shared spiritual place to pursuit the truth. In times of climate change, how libraries can further promote the spirit of sharing through recycling methods, and create a positive force for environmental sustainability.
